Espumisan Emulsion for Flatulence, 30 ml Solution

Espumisan Emulsion with simethicone is a medicinal product for gas-related gastrointestinal complaints caused by excess air in the abdomen, such as bloating, a feeling of fullness, or 3-month colic. It can also be used for detergent poisoning (surfactant poisoning). The emulsion is suitable for babies, children, adolescents, and adults. Bloating or a feeling of fullness is often caused by trapped gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract. The active ingredient simethicone works purely physically by causing these gas bubbles to break down, allowing the gas to be released and the air in the abdomen to escape. This can quickly alleviate bloating, a feeling of fullness, and other gas-related gastrointestinal complaints. Espumisan Emulsion is well-tolerated, alcohol-free, and sugar-free. It is easy to dose, making it a gentle aid for the whole family.

For gas-related 3-month colic, babies may be given 25 drops of Espumisan® Emulsion with every meal. The drops are administered with a small spoon after breastfeeding or added to the ready-to-drink bottle. Espumisan® Emulsion can be given for as long as the baby suffers from the symptoms. Due to its good tolerability, it can also be used without concern throughout the entire period of 3-month colic. In any case, it is important to have a pediatrician clarify whether it is "only" gas-related 3-month colic or symptoms of another, potentially more serious, condition.
